The Shilin Research Symposium is a platform for BA and MA students where they can present their research methods. For many students at this early stage of academic scholarship, incorporating research that goes beyond literature found in the library can seem daunting. Students can share their experiences in doing fieldwork abroad, conducting interviews, working with primary sources, etc. The presentations will not only give students an idea of the possible research methods they can use to write their thesis, but also give an insight in the practical issues that are involved.
The Shilin Research Symposium is held in the spring semester and is open to students of all universities. If you are interested in presenting at the symposium, please contact us, stating your thesis topic and attaching a short description of your research methods (approximately 50-100 words).
